Does anyone have details of the hose kit needed to make the install on my 72 Vette? Length and specification of hose and fittings. I can manage the Tee piece. Need to get made up over here in Dubai. Cheers Greg
Autozone probably has the exploded view of a Chevy Safari mini vans hydro boost. I'm looking into the vacuum pumps that came on the SS Silverado in 2003. I think escalade had them too. They were call brake booster vacuum assist and mounted on the booster. It's about the size of a 1 litter coke bottle. I know you have a lot of Silverados and escalates running around in Dubai that why I mentioned it.
The Hydroboost runs off the power steering pump. No vacuum needed. You might find some info over on vettemod.com - lots of DIY types over there who share information.
I pulled a clean Hydroboost unit from an AstroVan a few years ago at the junkyard. I haven't felt the need to install it since the original brakes (with O-ring rebuild) have been working fine.
You have a couple of ways to go - braided AN line or crimped lines (factory style). My setup is different than yours, so my measurement will not work. I suggest getting the AN fittings, then using a couple of pieces of cheap hose to mockup the routing and length. Same for crimped style, mock up your exact needs then take to the shop.
These links have fitting size - it will matter what year equipment you use as newer are metric.
