Default Quieting 2 1/4 sweet thunder inserts

Has anyone had any success toning down the side pipe inserts? I don't know if the higher compression and small quench has any play in the decibels but I went with the 2 1/4" inserts thinking they wouldn't be as loud as the 2 1/2" but I'm going to get tickets for sure with this thing...
It sound amazing don't get me wrong just too loud! I got biker guys turning and giving ME dirty looks!

I actually think its louder than my bike was when I tried straight drag pipes on it.

Anyone had success wrapping the inserts with exhaust wrap like the stuff they sell for motor cycle inserts?

When I had a Harley I purchased after market V&H pipes. The kit came with fibreglass to wrap on the outside of the baffles. I tried this and it did mellow the sound a bit i.e. reduced some of the "raspyness". Maybe the same results can be had wrapping those inserts with fibreglass insulation?

That's the very type of exhaust wrap I mentioned in my first post...I was looking for someone with experience using it such as yours for feedback on its performance... glad to know it works
Thanks!

i have the 2 1/2 sweet thunder inserts, my suggestion is either move to florida , the old people are deaf and the bikers are more hard core.
or drill some maybe 1/2 in holes in the narrow part of the insert and then wrap it , the holes would allow the sound to pass through to the packing material. that would quiet it much more than wrapping it . you can also put a bolt across the outlet as an extra baffle, its an old harley drag pipe trick.

I had to pick up my company car from the shop today and had my girlfriend drive the Bette while I followed... Its no where near as loud outside the car as it seems when your driving it... not as bad as I thought.
