I decided to fit halogen headlights to my 70 and since Zip had none I went to Corvette Central, the parts eventually arrived (I am based in UK), but in the mean time I ordered new rear suspension arm bolts as an urgent order from them. 2 weeks after placing the order I chased them and got a reply saying that they were to be dispatched that day, that was 3 weeks ago and they still havent arrived. In the mean time (about 2 weeks ago) I discovered that the HI beam Halogen headlights supplied would not fit, I sent them an email querying this and have had no reply to that. Do you guys in the US of A have problems with this crowd or is it just us International customers. :spam
Problem is, I am waiting for these bolts to get the car on the road for what little remains of our Scottish summer (and I use the word "summer'loosely). I was over in Florida last week and could have bought them from Ecklers when I visited them. Frustrating! and thats an understatement! :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad
Sorry to hear about your experience with CC. One thing I learned a while backthough is if you are visiting a Corvette sales place and you need something--buy it then. Always better to have it in your hand rather than wait for the mail.
I was hoping to have the bolts before I went ot Florida (and Ecklers)! since they were ordered some 3 weeks before, but these guys wont even reply to my email!
:mad :mad :mad :mad
I sympathise with you.I would like to say that I think Zip products,is just as bad.I sent them a list of parts that I need over three weeks ago,& have sent two additional emails,to find out what was the delay in getting back to me,still nothing.
Maybe these people have more buisness than they need,or international orders are to much trouble.
Funnily enough I have always had good service from Zip, but I did read of others on the forum having problems with them.
Anyway moaning on the forum has promted me to re-order the bolts from Ecklers on a rush basis. If the ones from Corvette Central ever turn up I can probably sell them on.
I have got to say that being able to visit Ecklers in person last week was an absolute blast for me after years of doing everything by email. I had spent over $550 before my good lady put the brakes on. The airline commented on the weight of my baggage on the way back, but that was smoothed over!
you're not the only international customer that have problem with them.i ordered for 1000$ of parts the 07/28 then (after an e-mail from me requesting info and 5 days of wait) I was told 2 items were backordered:
a 5$ small parts that i cancelled because i didn't realy needed it and didnt wanted to wait 1 month for .
and a weatherstrip
they wrote : evrything else in stock.
weatherstrip come in,they ship my order quickly, I think perfect
then i open the box and don't find one of the two differential side yoke THAT I URGENTLY NEEDED :mad i check the bill and see it referred as backordered
I sent them a e-mail to know what happened and what they were going to do (07/23) and didn't recieve any response yet (07/29) :mad
What **** me off is that i didn't receive any explication, I don't know if they are going to send it or not and when so I can't order it somewhere else and I will most likely have to pay shipping of the part(I checked on ups website: around 60$) because of their mistake :mad
so now for me corvette central :U unless they quickly correct their mistake.I'm sure other vendors will be happy to take my money in the future.
Yeah, its the frustration that gets you! I havent driven my vette for nearly 2 years now and I cant because these guys wont get off there butt and complete an order! Or even reply to a tech query regarding parts they do send that dont fit! Needless to say they are off my Christmas list as well! :U
I've always had good fortune and service from both CC and ZIP. Can't say enough about the attention West pays to the CF folks. I suppose that it's just not going to be a winner all the time for everyone but I think most reputable Corvette vendors connect way more often than they miss. I can certainly understand the frustration of being an overseas customer. I've done that and many times, you don't know if it's the vendor, customs, or your mail service.
Guess what arrived in the post this morning?? Only 5 weeks from orderingand asking for fastest possible delivery!!
Anyone in UK want a set of trailing arm and rear spring bolts?
:mad :mad :mad :mad :mad
Well, at least now you know where they are. Anything on the box to indicate which slow-moving boat it crossed the Atlantic in? :D
I can only imagine your frustration. I hate ordering stuff and WAITING. If I order from Summit Racing I get stuff the next day. Compare that to the decorative post caps I ordered to finish off the deck I just built. "Orders ship in 10-14 days". What are you doing with my stuff in the meantime?! Of course they BILL the order immediately. That's from 100 miles away. Across the ocean? I really feel for ya!
