AC Fan Motor
Fan motor only blows out heater ports under dash when A/C is on. Any advice on where to start troubleshooting? Air blows cold, just out of the wrong vents. 79' Vette. Tried all the settings on the control switch (vent, MAX, norm) with no results.

This happens often. The system defaults to the lower (heater) vents. Check to see air blows through the uppper dash (defrost) vent. If not, you may have a vacuum leak between your source and the selector switch.
If you remove the side panels on the console, you can access the valve that the vacuum lines attach to just below the HVAC panel. There is one line from the source and three (I think) other lines (vent, heater, defrost) only one should be selected (open) at a time. I borrowed a Mity Vac which is handy for applying vacuum individually to each of the ports. In the case of my car, the door that diverts air between the upper and lower vents was just sticking.
