A C3 for the Salvation Army!!!!!!!
My ex-wife called me up on the weekend to tell me that one of her neighbours (our neighbours when we were still married and living together)
gave his 1980 - 4-speed Vette to the Salvation Army.... :( :( :(. I knew the car and it needed a LOT of TLC but it was running and driving.... If I would have known that they would give away the car - I would have given them $1000 - $1500 for it... What a shame....

They probably got a larger tax writeoff than they could have sold the car for.

Check the blue book value of the car in fair condition and then multiply by .3 to get an estimate of their tax savings. I believe you get a tax deduction which might even get them down in a lower tax bracket if they are on the borderline. Hopefully it will end up in a good home.
