trying to get the wipers working on my sons 81. I think they worked when we bought the car but now that we are driving it, they are not working. I can't find a trouble shooting guide in the service manual. All I found was a description of how the system should operate in section 8A.
I have checked the fuse. It is good and has power on both sides with the ignition on and the wiper switch on or off.
I pulled the connectors from the back of the wiper motor. I can not find any wire with power on it.
In the service manual it says there is a controller located in the jack compartment. I can not find that connector. Where is that controller and how can I check it?
How can I trouble shoot this system and find out what to replace?
I don't suspect the motor is bad as there is no power to any wire coming into it.
Go to the Willcox Corvette website. They have lots of information on troubleshooting the wiper switch and motor. They are a supporting vendor for the CF. They offer us much advice in our threads.
ok, I got them working. I found the controll module behind the passenger seat in the jack compartment. It was way up under the front. It was disconnected.
The wipers work in the slow position, They work in the fast position also but they run the same speed as they do in the slow position. We can live with that because we have RainX on the windshield and don't plan to do much driving in the rain anyway. We just happened to get caught in a stray shower sunday and found out they were not working
