Can anyone give me the dimensions of the 4 speed shifter alignment tool please? I've got it pretty close without using one but it probably could be a little better.
I got a kick out of the AIM calling the shifter "Transmission Control Lever".
Thanks, Rick

I would be interested too. FSM shows it in place, but nothing in the "special tools" at the back of the section. Maybe it's like a Snipe net or a smoke shifter?
Aha! Thanks. Looks like it can be made from an old putty knife or scraper. Cut and ground. Have to heat to untemper.
This subject came up in another post about a month ago. I got the gauge width from my Service Manual, but this is by far the best drawing of a gauge I've seen. Is this drawing from GM or another source? Thanks for posting.
Thanks for the drawing Mako. I just made one .643" wide and .100" thick. It worked just fine. I had it pretty good after a lot of trial and error yesterday but wanted to follow the proper procedure since the body is off and access is easy now.
The drawing is the same one that is in my '72 FSM.
I have Hooker sidepipes and an TKO now but when I had dual exhaust and the Muncie, this was one of the most miserable jobs to do on the vette.
