Default AC system

Im having a terrible time getting my R4 compressor to mount up with aftermarket heads. After fussing with it and talking to some guys at the vette show last week, I am tempted to just switch over to a sanden set-up. Does anyone make a sanden coversion kit for a 78? I need to replace pretty much everything underhood anyway, will new stock replacements work fine with a sanden compressor? Or do I need anything special?

They seem to only list up to a 76. Are you getting the upgrade kit from them (factory AC car)? I have factory air, so I don't need the $1400 kit. Just compressor, bracket and lines. If they offer one with evap and accumulator as well, id go for that. How much are they charging and what are you getting for it?

If you are going to R134, then you need to get a new crossflpw condensor too. I highly recommend the Sanden conversion

It needs replaced anyway, it was pretty badly damaged when I got the car. Pretty much the only thing I have is the controls. At least im hoping those are good!

I would like to do this install on my '81 also. Please keep us updated when you get around to installing it. A pic heavy thread would be great
