New Speedo Cables - $5 or $50?

New Speedo Cables - $5 or $50?
Is there a real difference in speedo cable quality? Autozone is about $5+
and Ecklers has them for $50 (on sale).
'79 Manual w/ no cruise control
In case you are interested, my speedo needle wiggles and varies with speed - not solid. I've replaced the cable 3 times, took the speedo out and ran it on a drill (with a new, straight cable) - still bad...I sent it back to the guy that rebuilt it and he telling me that it is rock solid on his test bench w/ calibrating machine. He even sent me a video of it next to his calibrator AND IT IS ROCK SOLID.
So I'm wondering if the cheap cables are the problem since there is such a big price difference between Autozone and Ecklers. I called Chevy but they are discontinued. Any ideas?

did you look closely at the Autozone cable, it is a universal cable not necessarily the same length as the original
