My .02 is you are missing outer mounting tabs on each side. What model year? Do you have the AIM? The AIM will show what you're missing and how the grilles are supposed to mount.

Thanks. I guess that's different from the reinforcement bracket that I bought. 2 questions - where can I purchase this ( checked eckers, covette America , mods, etc). And what does it bolt onto in the the car?

I have a 1973 and I have the gm shop manual (big blue and white book).

Here's the 74 AIM.

73 may be similar, but keep in mind 73 grilles are metal while 74 are plastic.

I think that's it - That's the clearest picture I have seen of the mounting. I believe I need bracket 331859. I just order two from ebay (didn't seen like there were too many available) so ill find out shortly. Then onto figuring out where the Horn goes and installing new seat belts. Thanks

Order the AIM when you order your brackets. AIMs are handy to have around.

This is the best picture I could find from my 74 showing the outer brackets.
Nick

My 74 ones are pot metal as well, the replacements are plastic

You're right. My bad. 73 and 74 are pot metal. The only difference were the chrome edges for 73.

thank you all - took a little time. I used the two OEM brackets I bought for the outside and made two brackets for the inside, but got my original Metal Grille installed. I will try to get a better Pic of the bracket made for the inside connection.
