My confusion comes from knowing there are 2 different sizes one for a 4 speed which is heavier and uses bigger u joints however in my searches it sorta suggests my 1980 would have the heavier shafts to begin with but I am not sure.

If they dont have the heavier ones I will need the spindle connector the shaft and the stub axels

1980 & 81 manual transmission Vettes have the 1350 u-joint halfshafts. 1980 & 81 automatics have 1330 halfshafts. All 82s have 1350 u-joints.

The stock 1/2 shafts are as strong as any GM made. The 1330 u-joints are the weak point. To make the switch to 1350's You need new Yokes, 1/2shafts, and Axel Flanges. Toms differentials and Van Steel has even stronger parts.
