I think it's called the flywheel dust cover. It's whatever covers the lower part of the bellhousing behind the oil pan. I can't believe I missed that when I crawled under there before I bought it. Oh well, live and learn. Does anyone have any idea where I can get one of those? Ecklers seems to only have the cover for the automatic trannys and not the M-4s. :nonod:
Don't forget to oder the bolts that go with it. With the tranny in the car you can only get 2 or 3 of the 4 bolts in but mine has held up fine so far and no rattling.
To put the cover on, you have to pull the bellhousing off. The cover goes around the starter nose.
I have my bellhousing off now, that's how I know.

Are you sure it's the same for a '73 as a '76? I'm showing two different covers at Zip, one for 69-74 and another for 75-81. It doesn't appear that my cover would go around the starter nose. It looks like it would just be a half circle shape covering only the area immediately behind the oil pan. There's 4 screw holes all of which are easily accessible.
I have a got a high torque starter on so I don't have the nose but if it is in the way, pull the starter, think that would be much easier than pulling the bellhousing. Not sure on the diff between the years so no help there. Like I said before I could not get all 4 of my bolts on but I think I got 3 to go on.
