The drivers seat needs to be removed so I can lay in there and do some wiring... But in moving it forward to remove bolts...it quit. Now I can't move the seat forward to take out bolts to find the elec problem...thank God for Prozac...
Mine had a tremendous amount of gunk trapped in the grease on the rails, and eventually stopped sliding also. Try cleaning the rails off as much as possible, or hitting the contact points with WD40...

I found the same problem on mine when I bought it, the seat was stuck all the way back and I didn't noticed ('6"1) untill my dad drove it ('5"10).
It wasnt dificult I used some sylicone based oil, but be careful not to make a mess.
I never leave home, or work on my Vettes without Prozac......Don't be caught half way on any job without an adequate supply of Prozac to get to through to the other side.... :seeya Cappy :D
Well, tonight the seat moved about 1 inch forward and back electrically.
So at least the circuit is OK, even tho the motor may be tired. But I am thinking gunk is the problem. Will remove front bolts now and pull up front of seat to clean and apply more slippery.
Maybe I don't need to use all my ProZac, I can use AmateurZac. :conehead
