Where are the C3 "heaps"?

Where are the C3 "heaps"?
It seems lately that all the C3's I see, even the projects & parts cars, all have "matching numbers", "correct parts", and therefore command a couple grand even in disassembled, incomplete form. I'm basically looking for a chassis that rolls, don't need an engine or trans, don't care about the shape of the body, heck, even smashed glass would be a plus for my purposes. Granted, the real problem for me is that I would like a beat-up roadster rather than a beat-up coupe, but they've gotta be out there somewhere, don't they?

hmmmmm..... you don't care about the body and you'd rather have a coupe, just what kind of project you got going? maybe the" heaps" are psychic or clairvoyant and sense what you're going to do them and hide. seriously, do a few searches on the net and you'll find some vette wrecking yards, try contemporary corvette for one, gruhala, another one around Omaha, Nebraska are a few i have found on the net in the past.

Probably because there's no economy in cars that are in that condition. The time, money and labor involved in bringing them back to life is far greater than the car will ever be worth.

There was a 72 small block in the West Palm Beach paper Sunday for $6500. You might be able to find the add under http://www.palmbeachpost.com
