I am I stalling a 383/700R4 combo in a forum members 79. He went all out for the new fan and radiator from Dewitts. I finally got everything up and running. Have to say it is a pretty cool and very easy setup. The fans slowly ramp up and only run what speed is needed to cool the motor. I ran the motor various times in the garage for probably a half hour total and the fan cycling on/off many times as needed. The slow start and ramp down has to be easier on components and electrical draw. I have the dual Spal Dewitts rad in my car but if this is an option I would go with it. I know it is expensive but what isn't on these cars. Pretty quiet also until it max speed but still think it is quieter than the dual Spals.
Rather wait and get the good stuff than the knock offs when it comes to protecting an expensive engine.
For a wiring noob what all is involved in comparison to wiring a simple spal wth a relay/fan switch? Got a diagram?
Very interested in upgrading sometime and the ability to control the fan. Seems the traditional controllers out there arent that reliable
Ok Tom, I will put up some pictures tomorrow. The wiring is much easier since there are no relays involved. The radiator came with the sensor installed so you marry that to the power side. It is very simple.
I purchased it, gordonm installed it and whatever I paid, I'm not looking back. Everyone at DeWitt's was helpful, friendly and easy to speak with. For anyone in the market for a radiator, I highly recommend DeWitt.
