Just installed a new set of Hedman headers, I have Dart Iron Eagle heads with angled plugs. On the way home burnt a plug cap that was thouching the header, have 2 others on the drivers side that may go that route as well. The installer told me this would happen and suggested that I get headers plug wires. Any suggestions as to what to do would be appreciated. I was using an old set of cheap wires so no loss there. Also what wires are most of you running.

Re: Hedman headers and burnt plug wires, help! (gdh)
Greg, use NGK R5679-T spark plugs ( they are a little shorter ) and Taylor wires 074602 they have a 90 degree boot. With these plugs and wire you should have no clearance problems, but if you do heat the header up with a propane torch in the area where it is close and use a ratchet extension and a hammer to dent in that area a little bit then repaint the area with header paint.

I just removed the ACDelco and the NGK/Accel are 1/4" shorter than the regular plugs. May have to dent one tube a little, much better than 3. Will put the new Taylor wires on when I install the MSD 6AL and Blaster2 coil. Also have to get 2 more bolts for the headers as the exhaust installer seemed to forget to do 2 of them as well as attach the rear driver side muffler hanger to the car, it just swings and bangs against the rear 1/4. He even managed to bend one of my tips, he did like his hammer. At least these things can be fixed.
The Hedman's were @ $250 incl. all taxes but that is in Canada so would be 1/2 that in the US.
