Well,
Im getting my car back today (hopefully). But, the headlights are stuck up. Can I just push them down and pull them up for use until I can fix them?
When mine weren't hooked up to vacuum I was able to unlock them by pushing on the front of the actuator rod. (at least that's what I think I was pushing on)
STOP! DO NOT PUSH DOWN ON THEM!
You must put them down by looking at them from underneath. Pull down on the large adjusting bolt and they will go down normally. Do not force them because they are big bucks to repair. Ask me how I know :cry
Putting them up is just the reverse of lowering. Do it from the bottom. As I said before, Do not Push and pull from the top :nono:
The reasoning is that when the lights are up they "lock" into position. Pulling down on the bolt (mentioned in previous post) collapses the Locking function and allows the lights to descend normally.
When I had my problems I disconnected the vacuum lines and used my hand pump to raise and lower the lights. It is easier to raise them than to lower for some reason.
