Default Engine upgrade in my '77

Hello all;
I finished assembling the short block on my ’77 last night and thought I would post this update since several listers expressed an interest in this mid-level upgrade. So far so good, no drama, all the clearances are in spec, looks like a good start. This is the original L48 that came with my car and the build details are:
• Cylinders bored .040” over, crank journals line honed
• New Scat cast crank
• 9.2:1 CR (.015” deck height, .026” Clevite HG, 70cc chamber vol. with AFR 1036 heads, 10cc dished pistons)
• Lunati cam (.468/.489 lift, 219/227 deg@.050”, 262/268 advertised, 112 deg lobe separation)
Dyno 2000 says this setup will get me 383hp and 387 ft-lb torque, I think that is a bit optimistic. I’m hoping for somewhere around 350hp.

I will have about $3000 into the engine when I am done, doing all the assembly myself.

Cheers,
Jim

You may have to have your seat belts rebuilt when you're done putting that in there.

My guess is that number comes at the expense of some low end torque? The cam choice was to preserve the grunt at low rpms while not fizzling out over 5k rpm, I am hoping it works, stay tuned.

I see a 430 hp setup, it has a magnum 270H and a 7101 intake (worth 10-15 hp at peak).

The 270H is also a bit more aggressive, but not a lot. 5-10 hp maybe?

So seems about right.

I get accused of being a Sales man for afr, but the better the head flows, the less it takes to make power.
