Default spring isolator

1976 cpe / P/S

First thanks for the help on my last post. Now a question about coil spring isolators.

I am putting new springs in the car. When I ordered them I asked if they came with "spring isolators' ( the isolator is a thin rubber doughnut that sits between the frame and the top coil of the spring so they don't squeak as you bump down the road.)

The answer I got was "no we don't have them in stock but we can get them" What I got was a huge 1" lifting doughnut that goes in the Lower Control Arm well to increase ride height! NOT even close.

So my question is.. do these springs go in Corvettes without an isolator?

Any help appreciated.

there are no isolators in C3 corvettes for the front springs from the factory. I'm familar with their usage on rear springs for GM "A" bodies.

Just to add, I would definately not use something like what you described in the lower pocket. There is a drain hole in the lower control arm pocket, you do not want to cover that hole.

Copy that drain hole thing. Seems a little haywire to be putting rubber in the bottom pocket. I'll try and get a refund.

Camaros use the isolator.

Get a pair of thin rubber spring isolators and tape them to the TOP of each front spring before you install it. GM, Ford, and probably others use them for NVH isolation on their full size cars, and they definitely help. Look at rock auto "metro BN-110".
