the aftermarket chrome valve covers appear to have two extra "holes" than stock ones....i know that one hole is for the breather valve thingy...do i need to buy a breather valve with pvc so i can hook it up to the air cleaner assembly like the stock valve covers? -- besides the oil filler cap, what else do i need to buy to plug up that other "hole"
Most of the aftermarket rocker covers I have seen use one for the PCV valve and the other for a "breather" (foam inside a chrome housing), which most often must be purchased separately.
okay...on the valve cover with the oil filler cap (drivers side) there is a hose that connects to the carb...on the new valve covers is that where i attach the pcv valve and connect a new hose to the carb? on the other side a hose type deal (it's metal) connects to the air cleaner assembly...is that the side i put the breather valve thingy on? i can get a breather valve with a pcv attachment as well...i need help on this...i also bought some rubber valve cover gaskets today (felpro) where should one apply the rtv sealent?
done deal....just finished up putting them on....i figured out that i just needed a standard pcv valve for the side i was confused about...put in the rubber grommet and slid in the new pcv valve...bada bing, bada boom...problem solved...i used the same type of rubber grommet on the other side for that metal hose/pipe thingy that connects to the air cleaner assembly...i assume i can use a breather valve instead, that's probably what i'll do.
