I understand Random Tech has a pretty free flowing series of cats out there...
should be fine...pick it up before going to Rick's....he probably has mufflers from Flowmaster in stock...but don't bet on it...call and discuss all that with him....
Someplace a couple of years ago I saw a dyno run done on an 99 F-Body, one run was done with the stock cat and exhaust, then no cat and exhaust, then with a free flowing cat back system. The car had headers already installed, and as expected the removal of the cat raised output on the dyno somewhere around 15 or 20 at the rear wheels. The run with the high flow cat system averaged almost exactly the same over 5 dyno pulls.
Now this was with a computer controlled FI car, so it might be different with a carbed engine.
Putting on a high flow cat back system might be cheaper that finding someone to put an illegal set of true duals. Especially if your car has a single holed crossmember.
