OT - Got a new Job !!!!!!!!!!
Sorry this is a little off topic but this is where I spend 99% of my time on the forum so I think of you Guys/Gals as family (I am getting all misty :lol: :lol: ). Well I just got a really great job offer Friday after being out of work for the past 8 months. It is the same thing I was doing before so it should be a smooth transition. I will be relocating to Manassas, VA so any members in the DC/Northern VA area when me and my family get settled in lets get together and have a :cheers: :cheers: Now I can start all the major $$$$$$ projects that were put on hold :D :D :D . Zip Products is only a couple of hours away also......nice little Vette road trip to shop.

Andies, that area is super expensive cost of living, normal house of say 1500 ft n the burbs is about 200k bux...winters are full of snow and ice...
hope you got a good salary boost, you will need it...
I left that area for health reasons, arthritis, but can say a lot about the cost of living and weather....

Congrats!! I had a 6 month stint of joblessness and it was no fun. Manassas should still be a beautiful area! (It was the last time I was there many many years ago :lol: ) I was also going to mention it will be much higher cost than NC, but high cost area with job is much better than low cost area without a job!!!!! MJ

Thanks everyone for your kind words. It has been a long time but I can't wait to start. You don't realize how much you can miss going to work every morning until you have no where to go and have to sit around the house all day doing nothing (but job searching). It gets boring fast. The next time you start thinking you hate work just remember that a least you have a job and be thankful for it in this economy right now. Being out of work for 8 months just makes me want to do an even better job that I did for my last company that I was with for 8 years.
I fly to Bosie on Monday for a week then fly to Japan for 2 or 3 weeks for training. That is going to be Cool.

I have been involved with the NAFTA retraining program for nearly 2 years, my last place of employment moved to Mexico :cry

Congrats...I'm in Fairfax, about 10 minutes east of Manassas. I just bought my Vette so I'm still trying to figure out where the good Vette people are around here!
