Hi guys/gals--
Is warning buzzer part #14004971 interchangeable with #37759? Application is 1980 Vette. Thanks!

Yeah...you mean the GM#377596? The buzzer sound, or pitch is different. I needed one for my 78 and started collecting these things looking for a functional unit, stumbling across the GM xxx971 unit. I don't recall off hand, but I think the tabs are different as well (four on one side...two on the other).

So you are saying your 1980 calls for the 596 but you have a 971? Here's photo of a 596 out of a 78.

Oh yeah...ask Wilcox if he has made a reproduction board yet. He was working on it but unable to secure the buzzer part that would replicate the original sound.

Thanks for the reply---The GM part for 1980 is 14004971 (non-working part), which is in the car. The 377596 looks just like it, but research shows it's for '78, '79 years. All of the prongs look the same, that is why I wondered if it would work. These things are difficult to locate. Wilcox site says not available. Will keep looking, but tempted to try the xxxx96.

Did you ever open up yours, and see if there was a broken or loose wire inside?? ( an answer to your older post)
I'd be interested if the part #377596 does work, as the part # for a "79" is 14004971

Thanks
Brian

Hey Brian-- No, I didn't pop it apart yet, I had to get the beast in storage for the winter up here in cold N. MI. I was rushed to leave the building, but I am going over there at some point and remove the unit and check its condition. I will let you know how it looks. I contacted Willcox about a repop, but they have not gotten back to me. There is one for the '78 on Ebay.
