got a question guys. just rebuilt front suspension on my 77 with complete kit ,A-bushings,tie-rodends,etc.I think it went good except now the car sits much to high in the front.I am to get it aligned tomorrow, will this put it back level! Thanks for any info..I also replaced the carpet, the wave gets nicer.
i guess my first question to you is, did you replace the coil springs in front? or swap to a tranverse leaf spring design? if you did the coils, the old ones may have sagged with age a bit, and thats reflected by the aging rear end that is now still drooping a bit in the leaf spring. or the xverse leaf design is usually adjustable. sometimes new gas shocks can lift ride height a bit too (1/2-1 inch)... just some thoughts..
There's an "up" position for the coils and they have to be aligned into the spring pocket pretty well or else they can make the front sit higher. An alignment won't fix it.
This is a common problem that a number of us have run into. After swapping bushings and either re-installing the original coils or after installing new ones.
I did everything correctly, or at least I thought I did. I made sure the coils were correctly seated in the coils, etc....
To fix the problem I swapped the coils back out and droped the 460lb coils in. That did the trick.
