hi I was replacing my front bearing and when i put the new cup of a bearing into the hub I discovered that when it was corectly seated I could still rotate it.I tried putting back the old cup and it also rotate(wasn't really hard to put the cup in and out). is it a big problem? does it require to replace the hub?
is it possible to buy just a new hub without a new brake rotor because I already have new aftermarket rotor?where are they the cheaper because they seems expensive? (280$ with the rotor  :cry )
I tried vette brakes but all I could find on their online catalog was a new special (non stock kind i think) aluminium front hub with rotor for 250$.It wont work for me. none of the other vendors i checked sells the hub without rotor and price is from 270$ up to 370$ :cry
I had a chevy 1 ton work van that did that to me once. Even though the cup turned it was not a sloppy fit, so I bought a tube of Loctite "quick metal" which solved the problem enough where I put another 80,000 miles on before selling it. If the fit is real sloppy I would not attempt this, but might be worth a gamble otherwise. The worst that can happen is having to replace the hub anyway (try a junkyard).
I agree with Big Fish. I would clean it very well with lacquor thinner and use loctite bearing mount. You have nothing to lose. If the race spins it can not do any more damage. Also as a last resort you could check into a larger od race with the same inner race and have the hub bored oversize for the new race. I did this with my rear carriers . I wanted to use larger bearing so I bored all 4 race seats in less then a lunch hour.
Had good luck with this problem years ago, by taking a center punch and dimpling the inside of the hub where the race sits. This raises the metal to give you a tighter fit. Also used Loctite on the race.
