I am getting ready to start wet sanding and buffung my new paint job. I noticed that there is a small bug or peice of dirt in the nose. I am not sure at what point this got in there. If I wet sand it out and it removes the clear can I touch up clear without doing the entire front end again?
Before you apply another coat of clear, use 2000 grit. If your using PPG's system, they have a blending agent that will allow you to melt the edge of the new clear into the old so it won't show. You'll need a second paint gun handy to blend the clear. Right after you spray the clear, you spray the blending agent along the blend line with the other gun.
If you used another paint system, talk to the paint supply shop and get the manufacurer's instructions.
Or you can just reshoot clear over the entire panel and not worry about blending. But that's a lot of work.
Take it easy sanding and if it's just a tiny area, maybe it'd be better to leave a small imperfection than risk a full reshoot. From my limited experience, dark colors will show the blend line unless you use a blending agent. Hopefully Lars will chime in, he probably has an easy solution. :yesnod:
Thanks for the info. Hopefully I can get the bug or whatever it is out without any problems. I really don't want to re clear the front. Problem is it is very visable at least it is now that I have seen it. Thanks again.
