Default power door lock wire diagram.

do any of you guys have a diagram as to what wire goes were?? most books show only upto 79 then 81, but no 80!!!! can anyone help?

If you compare the two electrical diagrams, I think you will find them to be identical or at least very close to each other. Chevrolet tried to keep wire colors very consistant for all their various vehicles through many, many, years of production.

If by chance you find any major differences between the 79 and the 81 diagrams, there is a 99% chance that your 80 will be the same as one or the other.

Try this 1979 diagram. I can't imagine why the 1980 would be different.

ok, but why wouldn't it state that....80 is identical to 79 or 80 to 81?? do you understand? just can't figure it out. which one should i use??

The wiring diagram assumes the reader can read :D :D .... that is read the wiring diagram. :) Most cases the color used on the power door lock in the 79 book may say it's x color check your wires in hand to see if you have X color if you do hook it up. It's a simple circuit so you can run a jumper wire from somewhere ( 12 volt source) and test the actuator first. If it works move on to the switch Use a test light to see if the switch "switches" Start with the simple stuff first. Then move on to the wiring. I agree with Jim they likely didn't change wire colors for years, anyways don't you know color doesn't matter :D
