Got a sweet deal this weekend!!
I went up to the tire shop this weekend to have some tires put on. My buddy gave me 4 used tires to put on my car 70 Vette. They were in good shape but were low profile. I didn't think that they would look too bad. After they put them on they told me that they didn't think the car would come off the lift. It was sitting alot lower now! One guy comes up to me and tells me that they have these 17" Cariger S/S rims that would look nice on my car. They ordered them a year ago and the guy never came in to get them. He tells me that he will gave them to me for $550 out the door with used tires. After saying no a few times I ask to see them on the car. It looked sweet. Everyone in the shop stopped working and was checking out the car. I couldn't say no to that deal. I stayed in the back while they finished up the car and talked to the guys. It turns out that the used tires they wanted to give me didn't fit. So I got new tire with the same deal plus they refunded the money for putting on the other tires. Everyone was in to the car and I got the VIP treatment. I walked out of there with $1400 rims and tires for $550!!! I could not believe that I got all that for next to nothing!! Does this happen to anyone else?? Sometimes I can't believe how much attention you get with these cars!!!

Sounds like you were in the right place at the right time. Most people would
complaint about paying extra for work/parts on a vette.

Killer deal. Definitley post some pics if you can. BTW - are those the braided hose covers they sell in the Mid America catalog on your engine pic? They look excellent! :cool:

I will have to get some pics with the new rims. I tooks some of this years project but haven't had time to get them up yet.
