Default Steering Column Angle

I installed a Borgeson steering box in my 1981, and after reinstalling the steering column, im noticing that the column is not perfectly centered left to right. Its at an angle now.

Anyone else experienced this problem? Suggestions on how to go about straightening this out?

I do have the tilt/telescoping column, and the tilt column needs to be rebuilt regardless. There is play in the column, and can be moved slightly up and down and side to side...not solid at all.

But this alignment issue I am talking about is the section below the tilt. Its clear that its not centered, and at an angle now. It is aligned with the borg box perfectly I think. I dont notice any angle when I look at the rag joint.

Pics would be nice but if I'm not mistaken most c3 columns arent straight and pass under the dash at an angle side to side.

I heard this... or read it somewhere also. Because of the design of the car, it had to be off set a little to keep the driver`s left shoulder from being scrunched up into the door.

All three C3's I've owned have had the steering wheel "tilted" towards the passenger side just a little bit. If you look at the design / layout, it makes sense. If the steering column was to be straight and centered for the driver, the car would have to be wider. So unless it is way off, I wouldn't worry about it too much.
