Yes, looking at motors using the Dart SHP block. I spoke with CNC the other day. Forthcoming to a point with info. Next step is to make a decision on who and what. I may end up with a 415. Thx!
I have a cnc motorsports 415ci, it's a runner, even with the wrong headers (small tube tri Y's). I ordered American racing 1 7/8's.
Yeah, a good deal for sure. I'm gonna hold out for the 415 based on the Dart block. More $$$ but hey, it's Christmas! :-)))))))
I usually avoid making recommendations in these types of threads, because there are a slew of folks who know more than I can pretend to know when it comes to engine building and the various combos available. I realize all things are a compromise, and each combo offered has it's advantages.
With this said, I ordered an SHP based shortblock from CNC about 6 years ago. My criteria were pump gas, street performance and longevity. I was advised to go with fully forged bottom end, H-beam rods and stick with 3.75 stroke.
I mention the timeframe because a glance at their crate engines doesn't quite jive with the advice I was given, at the time. The advice was that moving beyond a 3.75 stroke required clearance grinding on the rod big ends. I do not know if this was specific to the H-beam rods in use, H-beams rods in general or with any stroke beyond 3.75. Bottom line - it wasn't recommended in my case per my criteria.
I mention this only so you will ask the same questions before you make your purchase. One of my favorite cars on the forum...best of luck getting back on the road soon!

Thx! Your comments are one reason why I'd like the Dart SHP block - already clearance for the rods. Grinding away at a GM block isn't for me. The time is now to do it the way I want so got consider the options. CNC's crate 415 looks to be the leader right now.

415 is 3.875 stroke. Requires block clearancing with the SHP Block.

You won't regret it. VERY high quality, and it's at least as quick as my 09' Z06. Very street friendly, too.
