Default E Headlamps with Vacuum Wiper Door?

Has anyone converted their headlamps to electric and retained the vacuum actuated wiper setup?? If so, how did you supply vacuum to the wiper door actuator? Sorry in advance if this is a dumb question.

If you are doing this, the best thing to do would be:

For the small hose side, block off the hose where the T is for the wiper tach solenoid. that stops the small hose side. Basically remove 7 black/white stripe hose (by the headlamp switch) from the system and it knocks out vacuum to all the small hoses on the headlamp system.

For the large hose system. You'll need to plug off the yellow and green hoses that feed the relays and leave the yellow hose intact that feeds the wiper relay.

My fault for not being more specific. I'm removing all the piping associated with the headlamps to include the vacuum canister on the drivers side. Is there a way to set up the wiper door as a stand alone system?

How rude I am. Thanks for the quick reply! I really do appreciate the feedback and diagram!

Any reason you don't want to also convert the wiper door to electric, and get rid of ALL the vacuum system?

Good question. That is my long term plan but I thought I could easily hook up vacuum to the wiper door to get it past inspection. At the moment I have a lot of changes going on at the same time so I was trying to think of way to simply hook the door back up and then deal with the conversion later. To further explain, I gutted the engine compartment in order to clean and paint the fire wall, wheel wells etc. I already have the E head light setup but not the wiper door. Once I put everything back together I figured I would start tinkering with wiper actuator and other items on the interior.

I have a separate thread on the build but here is the most recent photo I took this past weekend.

That makes sense. With regards to the wiper door conversion, I will be posting a thread soon that you might be interested in, so stay tuned!

I just checked out your build thread, looks great! Great year vette!!
