replacing my gauge lens since have dash apart...how do you recommend cleaning the inside/outside of the lens to avoid all the dust particles and scratches?
would like them to look super clean and void of fuzzies...
You said "replacing my gauge lens" and then you asked about cleaning so that is a little confusing. As to replacing I recommend that you DON'T do that. I got a replacement which looked nice and clear. After I installed it the reflections off the front surface were quite wavy. Damn! Not about to take it out now but if I ever do I am going back to trying to clean up the original.
i would like to retain my originals, BUT have scratches on them from previous owner...so want to make them clean/new...
I am installing them, and of course wiping everything down...the question is how to do this and avoid any fuzzies on the inside of hte lens where it will drive me bonkers!
Motorcycle retailers sell products that remove fine scratches from face-shields....I'm thinking those products would do a great job on instrument/guage lenses.

I have used Turtle wax scratch remover - in the yellow bottle to polish out scratches. I also used to clean and buff my neighbors Ford wagon's plastic headlights, a display box which was plastic. Worked fine and is cost effective. Just take your time and buff it out.

Let me add a little then.
Use 3M plastic scratch remover with a separate micro fiber towel first. It may take a while on deeper scratches but they can look perfect. I did all three lens on my 70 and the small gauge lens was really bad. Came out looking like new!
Once scratches are removed them go with the Mequiars for all future cleaning/polish.
I am gonna try both...see which is better...the 3M link or that meguiars plastx

SORRY haven't been around, had a death in the family.
You can also use Kit scratch and swirl remover for CLEAR COAT Finishes also in a yellow bottle. If you use a machine use the LOWEST speed as not to burn the plastic. I prefer to polish it by hand while watching TV.
Some of the other brands are temperature sensitive, and will leave a cloudy finish if it's cold (>60) when you polish the lenses. Just be aware.
Almost any polish that is good for clear coat will work.
