82 Corvette Mono Leaf Spring Rubber Pads - Replacement
Thanks for your interest in our products. You could probably use our 3-piece
centermount pad set #P1-403. We use this on our center-mounted fiberglass
springs. This is made to fit our spring (2 1/4" wide). But could possibly be
modified to fit GM or other brand rear springs. We have been making
composite (fiberglass) springs for 25+ years. Once the old mounting pad
set-up has been removed, ours can be glued on with 3M Windo-Weld, or
equivalent adhesive. It is best to let sit overnight for a full cure. I like
to use C-clamps and wood pieces to hold together until dry. The windshield
adhesive is good because it is still a little flexible once cured.
The pads for the VB&P springs will not fit the OEM spring. The VB&P springs are a different thickness and width at the mounting area.
What I had to do on my 81, before I changed the rear spring to a VB&P, was to go to my local rubber and gasket supply and bought some new material of approximately the same thickness and cut pieces out to make new ones. Each cushion consisted of three pieces that I had to glue together.
I hope this helps.
Second, contacted Muskegon Brake & Tire and spoke to Jeff. They had the exact rubber spring pads for my corvette and spring arrangement. Additionally, they had the small insulator pad that goes between the metal plate and bottom of differential.

Lastly, I'll say the folks at Muskegon, Jeff in particular, was excellent to work with. Extremely knowledgeable, very customer friendly, and overall above and beyond helpful.
