Hey D :)

The Electrics are a nightmare :) There's an almost untraceable problem w/ the ignition and it's becasue of that wiring.

Did the front clip come off unharmed? From the pics, it looks like a really clean removal! I have asked others how this is done, but I always hear that they are usually damaged in the process. I'm doing a frame off on my '70, and I'm almost positive I have a rusty birdcage. Any thoughts would be helpful.

Good luck on your project!

Check out http://www.lectriclimited.com/ for a wiring harness. They are not cheap, but I can vouch for their quality. They are an exact duplicate of the original. Good luck.

Came off in one piece and intact

If you're meticulous and start from the bottom (where the door is) then carefully use a chisel to break loose, then carefully pull to see if it comes loose, if not chisel more and maybe start at the top. You'll have to saw through thr small fiberglass strip running over the cowl.

Remember to remove the frame extensions too, on danzigs car some doofus welded them to the frame wich made removal of the front clip a pain.

If you need more info, ask for it, I have a damaged no 1 body mount on my birdcage and have started the repair yesterday, I got this far:

Before (after removal of clip)

After removal of firewall

And after removal of damaged parts

But this steers away from Dennis's post so please start a new topic or email :)
