I am putting back in a 350. I was connecting the starter, without checking what went where. I went to start the vehicle had power and door buzzer then after not starting and rearranging the wires now I have no power while turning the key. I have no clue why I have no power to anything but the battery is full
You could have blown the fusible link or you do not have the wires connected in the right places.
I'm going from memory so someone will correct me if I'm having a senior moment.
First the top large lug on the solenoid should have the battery cable and the wire (should probably be red) from the fusible link.
There should be a small black wire that should be connected to the engine block. It is a ground.
Your '77 should be an HEI ignition so there should be a purple wire that connects to the small terminal on the solenoid that I think is closest to the engine block.
I just installed a new starter for the car and now the starter is not kicking over. The wiring was put on as it came off. Puzzling! Anyone got a clue for me? Thx.

I had the wires wrong. Found that out after much trial and error. Not to mention the previous owner rewired everything so no colors match. Thanks for the help though!
