I'm refurbishing the front driver's side caliper on my 79. After cleaning the hardware and laying nit out, I noticed thh caliper bolts are different.
The stamping on the heads is different also. The "F" belongs on the shorter one and the other is an "S"
Please excuse the images. I've never posted pictures to the forum before and it looks like I need a little practice.
Anyway, both bolts fit in either hole. I'm assuming there is a reason they are different and wanted to know whether it matters which hole these are put in. Thanks.
I have seen lots of caliper bolts with the "S" marking never seen one marked "F", obviously the caliper has been through someones rebuilding process, I think I would reuse the bolt with the F marking if thats all you have, if it worked before it will work again....with a little loctite of course
