my situation
If you can save $4000 by next summer. You can spend that amount of money the next year on mods. Then you will really have something.
Dad can help you with insurance. I know I would give my right arm to help one of my sons fullfill his corvette dream.
You need to be admired for working and saving to buy a Corvette. I am sure your family is proud of you.
There are people on this forum about your age who have done the same thing. One of them is bence 13 13. He is now running with the big boys. I am sure he would encourage you.
Good Luck.......
If you want to operate from a position of power...(as in horsepower)...
you will need Time, Information, and Money. For example, when you go out car shopping. If you need a car tomorrow, you have little power. If you have no money...no power!! If you know LOTS about the Vette you are looking at...you have power.
So, you may have time...good Lord willing
You will have money, especially if you wait for a while and do it right.
And you just got lots of the best information I have seen here.
I think most of us "older guys" really want to see kids start off right cuz we have been there (and made mistakes). My son just went into the Army, but drove a 65 Mustang for two years while fixing it. With a truck, Vette and Mustang, all in my name, he paid almost two dollars for each dollar of my insurance. Cheap cars, cheap insurance, $600 for me, $1000 for him.
A first generation Camaro would be an excellent choice. Look out for fake Z-28s - there's tons of them out there.
