Dash light problems
My dash lights went out a while back and i noticed it was a fuse. I replaced the fuse and they worked for a day and the fuse blew again. i rplaced the fuse again and it blew immediatly. I took apart the center instrument pannel and checked out the wires and I found one wire that looked bad taped up the wire and the lights worked for a few days. Now the lights are out again but this time the fuse is still good. Where else should i look for problems. I looked at the switch but it appears to be in good shape. This is getting really annoying right now i have a mini mag light taped to my steering colum at night. :mad

Look at the light switch itself, it's setup with a variable resistor to dim the dash lights. It looks like a circle of coiled wire that a contact rotates around it. That wire circle over time will break and no juice to the dash lights.

With any lights you need Power and you need Ground. The best way to determine if it is the switch, just rotate it from one end to the other. It usually burns where the contactor is most often. You move it from one limit to the other, then you should be able to get on a part that is live. If you have no luck, you can add a test lead to the wire off the switch by splicing it in and when you have the problem, use a meter or a spare light to see if you have a voltage missing or Ground missing.
