My 78 which I bought with existing front-end damage finally went into the body shop this week for frame work. Tomorrow it is getting towed back to my house at which point I will reinstall the radiator / fan shroud in preparation for installation of the new front clip. I plan to take digital photos during the installation. I will e-mail a set of photos along with the detailed instructions which came with the part to anyone who is interested. If and when I get a CF web page I will try to post the pics and the instructions there.
BTW, after much research, I wound up buying the clip from J.C. Whitney. They actually delivered the correct part, on time, undamaged and the shipping was 25% less than what they quoted me. Hopefully, it will fit as good as it looks. :chevy
Re: Frame work is complete - new front clip next (4rensic22)
I replaced the front clip on my car as well, not such a big job if you take your time,& make sure every thing lines up including the bonnet.it will make a big difference to the body line once that job is out of the way.
Re: Frame work is complete - new front clip next (Fleetwood)
Thanks for the words of encouragement. It took me a minute to realize what the bonnet was though. My first reaction was "Oh, no. ANOTHER part to buy?" :D
