I'm looking to replace the brakes on my 72. It has stock rotors that are pretty worn. Are there aftermarket hub assemblies that will bolt on that have slide on rotors like newer cars? Would also like to improve stopping power on the car as well. Looking to do the front and rears, and yes, cost is a strong factor. Any help is appreciated as always.
Why do you think your rotors don't slide off. Have you drilled the rivets to try to remove them. If stock brakes on your Corvette are in good working order they stop well. Better than most other cars. Yes, they do make after market brakes for your car to the tune of approximately $750.00 per axle. So, if you want to save money rebuild your existing brakes to new condition.

Improve on STOCK: I found that a set of rebuilt calipers, rotors, pads, (front/rear) lines, and fluid from Van Steel restore the system to better than new performance.
I rebuilt in the 1999-2002 time frame and the system needs only a bleeding every 3-4 years to stay in tip-top shape. Of course, I added rebuilt rear t-arms/bearing assemblies/stainless parking brake hardware (ALSO Van Steel) plus their rebuilt half-shafts.
If you are just driving on the street even with spirited driving, a freshened stock system will be all that you ever need.
Give Danny @ Van Steel a call and he can set you up with a refresh of your braking system that you will enjoy. They also sell many other parts/kits (suspension front/rear) from mild/stock to wild. Great outfit!
