I am in need of a anti-theft alarm switch for a 1972. I have tried (6) corvette catalogs, chevy parts, etc. to no avail.
Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance.

If it takes the same switch as my 77, good luck. Mine was discontinued and I was lucky enough to find one. Cost me $ 100 too.

The switch was discontinued around a year ago... Finding one is not very easy right now. You might go the parts/sale section and start a WTB alarm switch thread.

Ray, can you post a picture of the exact one you need? I have a number of these switches I've accumulated over the years (I typically would buy two or three each time as they were often fragile). Unfortunately there were so many different ones produced, it gets confusing which switch exactly you may need. I've seen two or more different switches installed on the same year car. (Many folks took what they found and adapted them over the years.)
2 photos added. One terminal is missing. Send price if you have switch w/ key. Thanks.

I must apologize Ray, I thought you were looking for the door post switch. It appears (based on others comments) you are looking for the keyed switch that arms or disarms the alarm. If that is the case, I don't have any of them.
The alarm switch internal contacts are brass and as the switch ages, the brass oxidizes and eventually the switch stops working. I was able to save the alarm switches on my own 74' and on my sons's 74' by soaking the removed switch in a glass filled with a fluid composed of 2 parts ammonia to 1 part hydrogen peroxide. I let it sit about 20 minutes in the fluid, rinsed it in water and blew the switch out as best possible with my air compressor. You can check the switch at any point to see if the contacts are clean with a VOM (volt/ohmmeter).
If you want to try out this fluid mixture first, find an old oxidized brass bolt nut or washer and put it in the fluid and you will be amazed how quickly it will turn to a shiny bright brass color.

I got one from corvette central for my 69 vette, rear panel ray
I just did the trick posted above by Robert.Sperry with ammonia and peroxide, had to soak twice but it WORKED. This website is the bomb! Thanks to all. Mark
Is this the on/off key switch or the jam switch? I need the key switch. Many thanks.
it is the key switch. Plasticfreak did not have the key and I don't have one either. I do have the u shaped piece that holds the switch to the body I will throw in if you need it.

Thanks for the offer. I think I will wait and check on other used alternatives. I recently located a matched set of alarm switch, glove box and spare tire lock with key. I may swallow hard and pay the ransom after I look some more.
