Default Qld turn signal regulations

Hey all Im new here so go easy on me,,Im still learning,,
I recently aquired an 82 collectors edition vette and things have to be changed for qld rego,,
Now im sure this has been covered many many times but I simply cant find the answer Im looking for,,
I have to convert the rear lights so they have amber indicators and seperate brake lights,,
Ive read forums saying you have to splice into the 3rd brake light but mine doesnt have it,,not even the blue wire ive read about,,
So is there a simple solution,,
Ive swapped over connectors here and there at the back lights and reverse lights to the best of my knowledge and have the indicators running in the clear lenses,Also have the brakes running through the red lenses ,,seem to work until,,,,,,,,
Foot on the break they all light up,,What am I missing,,
As far as im aware the 2 outer lenses have,,Black/earth,,,Green right flasher,,,yellow left flasher,,so leaves the brown which I assume is the brake park lights wire,,
Ive taken out the bulbe in the clear lenses and replaced with amber,,Laft the earth connected and attached either side the yellow and green,,vala the indicators work,,
Brake lenses have the brown wires connected and the earth but now have a yellow stub and a green stub from which were cut to move to clear lenses,,
So what am I missing,,
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Brown is tail lights, nothing to do with brakes. The brake lights are the same as the turn signal wires (green and yellow). When you turn on the turn signal it interrupts the brake wire and inserts flasher voltage for whichever direction. With turn signal in center, brakes are lit by the yellow and the green wires.

Ok thanks,,Have you any idea how to isolate them from each other,,is there a wire thats cut to make the turnsignals flash on theyre own in the clear lenses while the tail brake lights work in the red lenses,,I need this for compliance in qld

Rookie suggestion-buy a wiring diagram for your year/model car......run an independent wire from the output side of the brake light switch to the rear of the car....install a T-connector onto the end of the new wire and run a wire to each bulb that you want to light up when the brakes are applied (first--cut in-two about 3" from the housings the original brake light wires to both of those bulbs, but leave the brown wires and ground wires intact),

Try this:
http://www.corvetteclub.org.uk/files..._mod_guide.pdf

It is a UK PDF on turning the reverse lights into indicators. You would then have to swap the lenses to the outside. Add new reverse lights under the bumper.
