It appears that Delta Flow was much more popular. The major differences I'm aware of...
1. Interior resonance is greatly reduced.
2. Exterior sound is "slightly" reduced.
3. Delta Flow in most cases run about $15 each more expensive than the regular Flowmaster series.
4. In most cases Delta Flow dimensions are slightly larger than the regular Flowmaster series.
There may be some others, but those are the ones I remember off hand.
Flowmasters are 2 chamber while Deltsflows are 3 chamber. The regular Flowmasters are louder. With more sound comes more interior noise too!! I have DF 50's on my CE and love them. Not too much interior resonnance.
I've got Delta 50's with the Mid America dual exhaust (no cat) on the 81 and they sound great. Absolutely no resonance and just the right sound. Highly recommended. :) :)
Ok, I've got to ask a stupid question. Are flowmaster and deltaflow made by two different companies, or are the deltaflows just another version of a muffler made by flowmaster? Are the flowmaster 50s and deltaflow 50s the same muffler?

Same company....the Delta Flow versions are basically the same as the regular Flowmaster mufflers except they have a row of V-shaped diverters inside that diffuse the sound waves to decrease sound level & resonance.
Flowmasters are 2 chamber while Deltsflows are 3 chamber.
I believe this is incorrect. If I'm not mistaken, the Delta Flow 40s are also a two chamber muffler. It's the Series 50 and Series 50 Delta Flow that are three chamger. Can anyone else confirm?

This is true, and the deltaflows are 8 db quieter than normal ones.

Both use the same type of diverters inside but the Delta's use more of them. 3 instead of 2 I think. Both mufflers are available in 2 (40 series) or 3 (50 series) chamber.

True, but keep in mind that the 50's are harder to "tuck up under" the body. They will show from the side a little. The existing stock hanger position will not work either for the 50's are 3" longer that the 40's. Now that I have Delta 40's.. I don't like them. Way too much interior resonance, but they sound awsome from the back!!! :D :D :D
