I keep kicking the idea around....but then I think my rear end would look funny without the exhaust back there.....?????

Look'n good
Welcome to the sidepipe club. Are you planning to put heat shields on? Some people don't like the look, others don't like the smell and pain of burning flesh. Heck, I even get nervous around small kids when I first pull in to a cruise-in and they run up to look at the car, but they do look and sound great. Are those stainless?

My pipes have white-ish header wrap on them and I thought this looks ugly, like a leg in a case , until I reached out and can touch the pipe while the car is running...gets hot but not brand you hot, I saw this wrap in colors the other day, so for now I tell myself it looks road race...
But vettes desire sidepipes..

I would invest in some heat shields. Your significant other will love you for it.

Looks great, especially with those shoes!
I did the same thing last summer, and wished I had done it years ago...completely changes the look and driving experience.

Not in my case but did get shields after 2nd or 3rd burn. Some of us just don't learn real quick.

i wear jeans when i drive it never had a problem. wearing shorts with sidepipes is as silly as wearing flip flops riding a motorcycle, just asking for trouble.

yes I have a few brands from my old sidepipes
got a little smarter and carried a towel on the seat to keep it cool when I wear shorts
toss it over the pipes and have it handy for the ladies
a throaty side pipe vette is a thing of joy and will announce you miles ahead
anyone use the new OBX side pipes
they look great and are cheap!!
looking into them for a BB swap on my old 68

i have obx. they fit very well no issue there, and are easy to keep looking good. you do have to keep after them but they have stayed nice. buy them without inserts so you can easily change baffles.

Did you have to make any mods to the rocker panels to mount those?
