Just wanted to note that mine fit with no spacers and I have no clearance issues. I can send some pictures showing the clearance on the calipers if need.
I went with 15 x 7 TTD and P245-60 x 15 tires. The 8.5 inch wheels created tire clearance problems in full turns.
That's because the 8.5" wheels, most likely, had a 3.75" backspacing, which is 1/8" less than the OE 8" rim, PLUS the added 1/2" of additional rim width. Therefore, the 8.5" rims had 3/4" more rim to the outside of the hubs, creating the clearance issue.
Yea, Id really like to know the tire size on the front of the car that Kidd Vette posted. I was hoping I could run a 235/60/15 on the front with the 15x8.5 and 3.75 backspacing without issue. Ive seen a car with the 15x8 with 4.5 backspacing and it looks too tucked up under the wheel arch for me.

While I certainly could guarantee anything, keep in mind, a 235/60/15 tire is somewhat small in OD, so you'd gain clearance because of it. Your ride height will also factor into it, too.
agreed, that was kind of the idea behind the 235/60/15.....additionally, Ive found 2 other members running that size tire on the 15x8.5 with no issues....Im sitting at stock ride height

Good year Blue streaks sports car specials. 26x8x15 guessing. Ran 26x8x15 eagle (slick) on the front of my car before I put flares on. On a 8" American s200 wheel. Wish I could give more size detail, but that's what's on the side of the tires since they are racing tires. If you could find the specs on the 235/60/15, you might be able to get close by comparing the specs to a 26x8x15 Blue streak. Think mine were 4.5 backspacing. Too many wheels years ago.
That would make it a 25.5x8x15 instead of 26. Betting the 26's are on the rear. 7.0 which are a tick taller than 26". The SW is what causes the clearance problem on the bias racing tire. Mine would rub on the frame full turn. The SW is probably over 9"N
Not mine. Just a good picture of a complete Blue Streak. Can't make out the height or tread patch. Should be a 25 or 24.5??
