I have two 8" JBL's in a box right behind the seats, it comes out easily when I need to put something large back there, and there is still lots of room in front of the box.
I may have the largest sound system in a CF c3, I have 2 3-way Jl audio 6x9 speakers powered by a rockford fostage 150s amp and a 2.5 cu. ft ported box housing a 2002 Kicker Solo-Baric 12" subwoofer being powered by a 600 watt Kicker KX 600.1 amp and a Sony CDXM600 head unit, i will have photos up soon, Sigforty has seen my system...I only turn it full blast for show...and unlike most cars with outrageous sound, mine runs 13's in the 1/4 :)
I have about enough room to fit a toothpick or two, my box goes from the back of my cab all the way to the 2/3 door compartments that hold my jack and battery, ill post pics soon, right now i have my sub out. It had a bad spot on one of the voice coils, getting a new one sent to me as we speak
I just put a bazooka tube in mine and it's easily removable if I need the space. I know alot of people don't like the tube and if you want bass to wake up your neighboors then I definitely suggest the kickers. They rock hard and they do sound awsome but I wanted something with the amp already installed and this was the easiest alternative for me and I get bass I can feel and it's even adjustable as to how much bass I want with the volume **** I mounted in the ash tray compartment. :D
Yea, Desertdawg, but at least our rear window opens
 dont forget the early sharkers can open our back windows too :jester
i had two Kenwood tornado 10s with a Kenwood 150 x 2 amp. sounded great, i didnt have to make a full box (just a stand up for the speakers to sit) because the back of my car was already like a sealed box so i thought i would save some trees. sure enough it sounded great and i had plenty of room to store my tops (and the speakers were removeable by 2 straps) so i could store the back window as well) but my dumbazz gave the speakers away to my friend for a clutch install :cry
I also installed a Bazooka 10" tube. Fits nicely in the back and produces just enough bass without sounding like a ricer. Got it brand new in box off Ubid.com for $81.00 plus shipping. Crutchfield sells it for $250.00.
Ive got two boaupunkt 6X9's, 2 mtx8" subspowered by a 150x2 Jensen amp, and 2 lightning audio 12" subs powered by a 250x2 Poweracoustik amp. I've also got a pioneer elite head unit (45x4) powering the two 6x9's. All this (excluding the head unit) is mounted in a mamoth box that fills the entire rear cargo area. I actually can't open up any of my storage bins. The previous owner had the box and he removed all his equipment. Luckily I had everything to fill the box except the 12's so I just bought a pair and stuck them in with the rest of my stuff.
Fast forward to today. The sound is great but the space it takes up is ridiculous. I'm currently working on plans to redesign it. Hopefully something a little cleaner.
I would show you a picture but all you'd see is the front of the box with 2 6x9's and an amp mounted to it. Nothing exciting.
I have a single Rockford 10 inch XLC sub in a .75 cu. ft. sealed enclosure. It will be now be powered by a Precision Power PCX 5800 amp. I purposely made the speaker enclosure wide and not very deep to get the volume recommended by RF but still have room for T-tops. The storage doors should all still open as well. I am in the process of building it and will put pic in when I am done.
Here is how I fit 2 10" subs, 2 6x9s and 2 amps in the back of my car. I built the center box seperately and then built side tables to hold the amps and support the center box.. The 6x9s are on an angled section beneath the amp shelves and point out through the stainless grills (my neighbor has a nice business where he makes this stuff). Underneath it is all built out of 3/4 MDF. In the pic you can see that there is space under the sub box for the t-tops. When I draw the shade nothing is visible. I do not have real high dollar components but you can pour as much money into this stuff as you want. Suffice to say I can't drive through the neighborhood with the stereo up all the way.
FYI, the center box is 8"x12"24" with a divider in the middle. This gives right at .5 ft^3 per side which is just actually on the low end to handle the 10" subs I have. The opening under the center box is about 4.5" high and 25" across to fit the t-tops.
I am dissapointed with all of you! :jester except twinnie, his looks like its pretty beefy.
i plan on doing 4 eclipse 10" aluminums, powered by 2 DEI 1100ds (for a peak total of almost 3000watts) i have eclipse point source 6.5s which will be installed in custom kicks and i still have no idea where my tweets are going to go but i am going to aim them rather than just install them so my imaging is perfect. for the fronts im going to use either a JL 300/4 amp or use my Alpine v12 which is 45x4. but since im only using front speakers than i will have 90 watts for the 6.5s and 90 for the tweets. or if i use the JL amp 150 to tweets and 150 to 6.5s. my deck is either going to be the Kenwood 911 or top top eclipse deck. i want the eclipse because the sound quality is amazing, but i want the kenwood because its an in-dash dvd player.
some call me crazy
others agree
i dont deny it. :smash:
BTW: Im not saying anyone elses sytems suck because they arent big systems. i had some cerwin vega 4x6 plates in the dash running off the deck and a 10" cerwin vega-Vega104 sub powered by a jensen amp and that was loud as hell in the vette. was pretty clean too for costing under $500.
