Default 80-82 vette owners

I am considering buying a 80-82 vette in the next month or so.My question to you guys, does the later sharks have the same interior heat prblems as earlier sharks? My 75 roadster gets really hot.I use to own a 82 CE but I dont remember the heat problem.I really dont recall any problems with the 82 as I have with my 75.

Thanks

On the flip side, if you go for a '82, definitely go CE

Mine doesn't get too hot and the AC isn't working. Don't worry about the Crossfire, if it is set up right it runs like a champ, just not a lot of HP. I never had a problem with mine. I love my CE :D

They all get hot....thats were the t-tops are for.... ;)

My wife's 82 runs with a lot less heat inside than my 71. Chevy did a much better job insulating the passanger compartment in the later sharks.
Also, don't worry about the crossfire, her's has 95K miles and runs fine. It's no hotrod but 20+mpg is nice. There nice cars!

I installed Home Depo hot water insulation ($12.00), under my new carpet. It's enough to do both sides and it really helps to cool interior. Good Luck huntiing! L8TER, Paul.

I am not concerned about the cross-fire at all I had an 82 CE several years ago and liked it very much.Really wish I had it back.I am just concerned about interior heat.I dont remember my 82 getting near as hot as my 75 presently does.

Mine has a heater bypass valve (I think thats what it is called) keeps it cooler in the summer. Just turn the valve open when you want the heater to function.

Heat ? Heeeeelll ya it's hot in my car. All that glass doesn't help, and that crappy A/C and lack of insulaton.

Look where I live.....

Maybe I should clear the air. i think you may have the wrong impression of me. I don't DISLIKE the Crossfire, just most Vette ownder like HP and crossfires are harder to get HP out of, from what I can see

Went for a cruise yesterday in my '81. Outside temp was about 70F - 75F & we were cruising at high speed with occasional long periods sitting at idle in heavy traffic. I've removed the aircon & the blower fan doesn't work, so there was no chance of blowing cool air in. Tops were on & windows were closed due to frequent rain. After hearing how hot Vettes got inside I was expecting to cook, but the temp was OK - warm but not hot. I'm happy with the inside temp & my daily driver gets much hotter than the Vette does (the daily driver is black - not good in sunshine!). The sun shining through the glass tops heats the inside far more than the engine does. England isn't known for being tropical so it would probably be uncomfortable in somewhere like Arizona, but I wouldn't have removed the aircon (fitted as standard) if I lived somewhere like that!
