Default Duel Fan Wiring

So I've got the TPI set-up installed on my 80 Corvette. The water pump fan & shroud are in the way for the air cleaner. My question is, the stock shroud has an auxiliary electric fan in it. Can I use these wires for one of my ford focus duel fans ? Where do these wires originate. Are they on a stat somewhere ?

you can use the oem wiring ( black/pnk stripe & lt. blue) but only to trigger a relay that can handle the 30 amp load of the fan. power for the fan will need to come off the alternator or battery lug near starter. the oem wiring wont handle that fan because it comes off the key switch through a fuse. also the temp stat. will need to be changed as the oem one was usually set @ 238°. Jegs / Summit have fan wiring kits w/ 185° stats that will work.

So I assume by "stat" you mean sender ? Could I leave the 238 stat/sender for my #2 fan & find another place to install a 180 sender for the main fan ? The wires that run the factor fan appear to be #12 or larger.

yes you could run the oem sender but i dont think its worth it to run that hot. the wiring is ok. its the old oem key slide switch that would be carrying the load. jegs has another sender set at 190. i have the 180 and the 190 in mine running the dual fans. i purchased a dual port thermostat housing to put both stats(sending units) in.the relays are a safer alternative to carry the load of those fans.
