5" Autometer gauge adapter???
I have purchased the AutoMeter tach and speedo for my '76 in the pro-comp ultra lite. I also downloaded and printed two sets of the adapters but there is no way these are going to fit over the housing on my gauges. The housing is right at 4.5 inches and on the printouts I did the holes are just a hair over 3.5. Am I missing something here or are the printouts not the right size. I even went to "another" site with a downloads section and same issue. Anyone have a set of drawings actual size?
Thanks

I think that's the same one I have. I had to enlarge it to 78% to make the hole in the middle fit over my gauge. Don't know if the holes will line up or not until I pull the dash out. I didn't know if there was one out there that was an actual size or not.

Some have done aluminum. I went to Lowes and bought a piece of 1/4" lexan and cut them out and painted them black. Work great.
By the way, if you are using the template above, I had to increase the size to 78% and then print it out to make the template. The size shown above is too small to fit over the 5" speedo and tach.

Again, Thanks. Lexan is a lot easier to work with. I wasn't sure if there was enough room for 1/4" material. I was hoping the mechanic could just put them in while he was changing the distributor. Will have to get in there myself.
Side not: That MSD HEI seems to add a lot of torque over the original.

The 1/8" lexan is actually strong enough to do the job and if you use it you won't run into a problem with the original screws being too short to catch hold. I had to use a different screw in the lower hole because the stock one wouldn't reach.

Im doing the same thing with Stewart Warner gauges...just curious if you guys are using LEDs in the small holes for turn signal indicators and if so, how did you wire them up?
Thanks

I did do the LED's for the turn signals, brake light and high beam. I purchased the 3mm size here: http://www.oznium.com/ and the work great. Just drilled small hole in the lexan I used and them inserted them and wired them to the same wires used on the originals. Figured I might as well do it while I had it apart. Don't want to have to do that again until I get ready to install the A/C system
