Default Torque converter manufacturers?

I just ordered a Smeding 383, 360 hp, 400#/fit torque. I'd like to stay close to stock rpm since the car is only street driven.
Which mfgr should I try and why? Not looking for stall speed arguments, just the most reliable mfgr.
Car is a 75 with th400
Thanks

I went with Performance Torque Converter out of Alabama. I first bought a 2800 unit for my th400 which worked well for me but I have no more than 330hp and use the car for street only.

I had this converter for a couple of years. Then I converted to a 2004R transmission.

These guys have a trade in program! I returned the th400 one and bought a 2004R one for about $180 or so. I thought that was good customer service.

Get Lane on the phone and tell him all about your car and engine and he can dial in a converter for you for probably under $400.

I exclusively used ATI when i was racing years ago and never had a problem. recently i bought an FTI convertor here in Florida, they made one custom for me that is a little tighter so it doesn't slip as much around town, but flashes about 2800. i am very happy with it , but had to go to Drag radials. my goodness its fun.
